Beyond this horizon

How we see our environment and our relationship to it, is in part determined by the horizon that is around us. The things that are on our horizon has an influence but how deep and impactful is that on us as children of God? How do we prioritize and differentiate between the temporal environment and the eternal? Pastor Michael highlights a declaration from Paul to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4: 6-8 about our temporal and eternal horizons.   -

How should the child of God navigate the conundrum of suffering when he or she is living in accordance with God's word and is looking for respite that does not appear that often? If sufferings are associated with pain and we are exhorted to be righteous why do we suffer when in essence we are doing good? Will there be a deliverance eventually and when can it be expected? -

Being alone or dealing with fear and to know that you are not on your own can offer some assurance, however like many promises are only as good as the ones that is offering the promise. However in the hardness and realities of our daily experiences whether in relationships, finances, discomfort, and despair; it becomes hard to reconcile what we know to be intellectually true and the experiences..
